Greetings, WISDOM Community!

We would like to take this time to thank and applaud each of you for your time, commitment, and participation in the WISDOM Study.  Together, we are helping to ensure all women know their unique risks for breast cancer and get screened appropriately.  We are making huge strides because of you.  On behalf of our whole study team, thank you!

WISDOM Cares

Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation.  The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is affecting our families, communities and way of life.

To ease any concerns you may have around managing your breast health, our clinical team has provided guidance around when to seek breast health care during this difficult time.

Please note: since the the WISDOM Study is primarily an online study, we are continuing to enroll participants during this time.

Sharing WISDOM

We are thrilled to share that as of October 15, 2019, the WISDOM Study has expanded nationwide!  All women between the ages of 40-74 years with no history of breast cancer, are eligible to participate in the WISDOM Study - regardless of insurance provider.

Please share the WISDOM Study with your family and friends!

WISDOM Updates

Happy National Women's Health Week!

Now more than ever, it's important that we, as a community, stay informed, proactive and diligent about our own health and the health of our loved ones.  As a result, the WISDOM Study is launching two projects with the overarching goal of gathering and disseminating essential health updates during this unprecedented time.
  1. We have recently started emailing WISDOM Study participants an optional COVID-19 survey.  The overall purpose of the survey is to inform us of the physical, mental and emotional impact the current pandemic is having on each of our lives.
  2. We will be hosting a series of optional breast health webinars over the next few months. These interactive webinars will focus on women's health issues and seeking care during this time.  The webinars are open to all women.  To stay informed of our latest webinars, please follow us on Facebook

Your updates are vital, as they factor into your yearly screening recommendations, and help us learn and address important breast health questions.

WISDOM Speaks...

Spreading WISDOM

This past fall, the WISDOM Study staff, volunteers, advocates, and friends were busy sharing, spreading, and growing seeds of WISDOM.

Some highlights include the Army of Women 10th Anniversary Event in Los Angeles, CA, where our very own Dr. Laura Esserman was honored, and our mid-October Facebook Live event, in partnership with Bright Pink.

WISDOM in the News

Thanks in large to your time and participation, the WISDOM Study team has continued to make progress -  and make headlines!

Our recent headlines include appearances at the TIME 100 Health Summit, Bay Area's ABC 7 Midday Live segment, Dr. Esserman's recently published article in Nature Outlook, and Dr. Sheth's podcast on RSNA's Top Five.

Wise Words...

No two patients are the same and neither are their cancers.  If you know your personalized risk, it enables you to take control of your care.  WISDOM empowers women to take the first steps toward that reality!

- Deepa Sheth, M.D. (Assistant Professor of Radiology, University of Chicago, WISDOM Study Principal Investigator)
